Subject: IMPLEMENTATION OF THE GOVERNMENT DECISION ON THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CABINET SECRETARY'S COMMI'ITEE

RELATING TO PENSION OF PRE 1.1.06 LT GEN /EQUIVALENTS - REG.
Sir,
The undersigned is directed to refer to this Ministry's letter No. 17(4)/2008(1 )/

D(Pen /Policy) dated 11.11.2008 on the above subject as amended vide this

Ministry's letter of even No. dated 20.1.2009 and to state that as per

recommendation of the Committee headed by the Cabinet Secretary, constituted

by the Government, to consider various issues on pension of Armed Forces

pensioners, the pay structure for the rank of Lieutenant General in the Army

(other than MNS officers) and equivalent ranks in Navy and Air Force issued

in implementation of the recommendations of Sixth CPC, has been further revised

and notified vide amendment dated 16th July 2009 to SAI/SNI/SAFI

No. 2/S/2008 respectively, under which Lieutenant General and equivalent

officers in Navy and Air Force have been placed in a newly introduced HAG scale

of Rs.67000- 79000 with effect from 1.1.2006 corresponding to pre-revised

HAG pay scale of Rs.22400-24500. Accordingly, the rates of minimum

‘guaranteed family pension' for the rank of Lieutenant General and equivalent

ranks in Navy & Air Force, as notified in Annexure -ll (Revised) to this Ministry's

above quoted letter dated 20.1.2009, are substituted with the rates indicated in

the enclosed Annexure.
2. All other entries remain unchanged.
3. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Division of this Ministry vide

their U.O. No. 119/Fin/Pen dated 20.1.2010.
